Dear all,
Due to the fact that results was out late, reassessment period has been pushed back till May. If you want to know which component you need to re-sit or reassess, kindly check your Keele WebMail. Some brief instructions are given there. Following are things that you need to know about your reassessment and/or resit :-
1) Check which component you fail (either the assignment or exam)
2) You only do the component that you fail.
3) Resit amount is RM200, the form are available on top of Ms Sheela's desk.
4) Get a form, fill it up, pay at A&B, return me the form and receipt.
5) Once that is done, I will pass you your question and you can begin to do.
6) Last day for payment is 24 April 2009. The sooner you pay, the more time you get to do your assignment.
7) Dateline for all submission is 8 May 2009.
8) As of now, exams resit dates are from 11-15 May 2009. If the resit questions are the same as the Year 1 Semester 1 students, your resit exams will follow the current exam timetable.
I guess thats all for now. All the best and please dont stress yourself out.

Calvin

Dear students,
Congratulations for those that have done well last semester and for those that didnt do too well, don't worry, there are still place for improvement and opportunities.
Here are some information that might aid you:
1) For all Year 1 papers, it is 10 credits each.
2) You can proceed to Year 2 as long as you have a minimum of 100 credits. In other words, you should have 120 credits as you have 6 papers in Sem 1 and another 6 papers in Sem 2.
3) Eventhough you can proceed to Year 2, you will still need to complete all your Year 1 papers.
4) There are TWO re-assessment period in a year. Tentatively, it will be in April and August respectively. You can choose to re-sit in either of this period.
5) However, you can only attempt a paper 3 times (the first time would be when you take it, therefore you will have 2 more re-sit attempts remaining) under the condition that you can ONLY re-sit a particular paper ONCE a year.
6) There are different type of reassessment, some are exams, some are essays. It all depends on the subject re-sit component.
7) If you fail to complete all the papers before you graduate, you DO NOT get your certificate.
8) If you have attempted 3 times and still fail to pass that paper, you will be excluded from the University.
9) There is no limit on the amount of papers you can resit in any assessment period. However, bare in mind that it is important that you can cope with re-sitting multiple papers.
10) If you have to resit any papers, you will be notified by the University through your Keele WebMail.
11) Any resit papers will only have 2 marks. Either you Pass (40) or Fail (39). Therefore, it is important for Year 2 onwards as it will affect your Honours Degree outcome.
12) There will be no appeal attempt if you get marks such as 37 or 38. You will NEVER get a mark of 39 (except if you re-sit). Reason being, your marks would have gone through 3 markers and 2 exam board meeting, therefore, there is no reason to appeal against the final outcome.
13) Of course there will be forms you need to fill up and a re-sit amount to be paid for each re-sit attempt for each paper.
As for now, these are all the information that might be helpful for the near future. Please come and see me if you have any further inquiries. If you ask for something that has already been posted here, you will not be entertained.
Regards,
Calvin
