EXAM Timetable - check the draft here, date are 99% confirmed. Once venues are assigned, a final and confirmed timetable will be posted here and noticeboard. Please inform PL if any exams are missing. (Students who are eligible for special resits will be informed later once confirmed by Keele)

Turn it in Guide - Resubmissions will be delayed. Read page 14/68 of this GUIDE.

Note - there are some delays in confirming the exam timetable but it will not defer much from Keele's exam timetable available on their website.

Dear all,

RED Team obtained third place (from last year's fourth place). Good job to all the athletes, cheerleaders and supporters!

1. IDs and Passwords have arrived. Please obtain it from PL during the following times. There is also a form for you to sign. Complete this task asap.

Wednesday to Friday 930 - 1130am and 230 - 430pm

These students please see PL to collect Login ID/Passwords asap. You will need to sign a form asap to complete your enrolment.

1. Kairo M Hersi
2. Thinesh Kumar

2. Exam timetable will be released next week. But to get a rough idea on how it looks like, please go to this website. KDU generally follows 99% unless it falls on a public holiday. There may be some changes to the times but the dates normally stay the same. Also there are some subjects not listed yet.

3. Start date for next semester - proposed 14 February 2011. Please look at the same website about to find out when the exam periods are for Year 1, 2 and Year 3. February 2011 will be a shorter semester, hence classes will be longer per week.

4. There will be a long semester break (summer break) from beginning of June until mid of September 2011. During this period, students may opt to go back home, holiday or work part time / internship. If I have any internship opportunities, I will post it on the noticeboard and on the blog.

Information on internship

- As a Keele student, internship is optional and its on the student's own initiative.
- Internship position advertised in KDU are not guaranteed positions, students still need to provide CV and attend interviews with the respective companies
- If internship advertisements are not available, students may look for companies on their own and KDU will provide supporting documents that you are a student here
- Salary / allowance will be provided but it will be minimal. The important outcome from internship is not the salary / allowance but the experience.
- Internship positions are normally for about 3 months (depending on companies), if any longer, please advise the company on your semester's commencement date
- Internships ARE how the real working life is, professionalism, responsibility etc. must be upheld at all times. If you are good and up to the company's expectations, you will be considered as a full time employee upon graduation.
- Typically, you will begin the hunt for internship positions 1 month before the semester ends, as the company needs to undergo the screening process, interview process etc.

Michael and Ali, please see PL

Hi all,

Just a gentle reminder that when you submit your assignments, make sure you do the following:

1. Indicate Keele and KDU ID (new students should receive their IDs soon, if not use your KDU ID first)
2. Attached the assignment coversheet for all assigments. The link to download is located under the INFORMATION section (top left hand side of this page)
3. Attached a copy of your Turnitin report. All assignments must be checked for plagiarism. Obtain the class ID from your respective lecturers. Different subjects will have different IDs. A quick guide is also attached under the INFORMATION section.

Quick Advise on Turnitin

1. Use only 1 email address for all your subjects - this semester and future semesters
2. Submit early. The system tends to delay in generating reports when there are many students submitting, sometimes up to 48 hours.
3. Some lecturers may allow only 1 submission and NO re-submission. Please check with your subject lecturers.
4. Senior students please assist your juniors.
